Book Description

This text is designed for the upper-division writing course Linguistics 305W at San Diego State University. This course for multilingual writers explores various genres used in academic and professional settings, and allows learners to tailor writing assignments to their specific disciplines of study. The textbook first explores genre and gives students strategies and tools for genre analysis. It provides information about specific genres that are used in academic and professional settings that students may encounter in their course work and beyond. It also covers how to write in a new genre, research, and elements of design and multimodal composition. This text has been curated from the many wonderful OERs already on Pressbooks as well as other material with Creative Commons Licenses. Please note: This book is still in revision stage.
